I've just realized that I have had this journal for a while and never actually written anything in it before. So for the first time I would like the people reading it to get to know me. I am a junior at the University of Mississippi (better known as Ole Miss) and am a member of a fraternity (now this is where you may judge me, but I am a member of a brotherhood in the truest since as these are the guys that have seen me through the worst moments of my life to date). Since August 29, 2005 I have been called a "lucky one" as I had survive Katrina in the actual since that I was in Bay St. Louis, MS when it struck and abruptly turned the coastal town surrounded by bayous into a virtual island with water levels reaching six feet in the first floor house I was staying in at the time. Now ever since this time like clockwork I have lost a close family member in the order of my grandfather, my uncle, and finally this year my grandmother. I am and have been since I was young very neurotic and manic, a people pleaser, and the shoulder to cry on.  I have been praised during my schooling as clever, a great writer, promising talent, and the smirking bastard in the middle of the class. I have a thirst for travel and have been to quite a few places around the world in my short time. I am a big fan of the Lost Generation, Joyce, Byron, Hawthorne, Pope, and quite a few others. In recent literature I love Harry Potter and am proud of it, along with this I am a big movie and tv guy. While I do go out with my brothers and have a good time I'm more of the guy who will stay home and find something to do there like watch a movie(my roommate and I splurged on a projector and screen so homemade movie theater), tv, read, write(most stories will never appear here), or play with my dog. I have not thought about my future to much....well nothing past the next five or six years other than that I will probably end up being a professor while I write books(hopefully) or something along those lines.
